Delivery at Albert Einstein?

Morning,

Has anyone delivered at Albert Einstein or know of anyone that has?  Good or bad experiences?

Also, if anyone has worked with a particular OB at Albert Einstein and has reviews, I would really appreciate them.

My husband and I are relocating to the area and would save a good amount of money if I delivered at Einstein over Lankenau.  However, I know nothing about Einstein's maternity ward, so am looking for any information.

THANKS!

Re: Delivery at Albert Einstein?

  • Hi!  I used to be a resident at Albert Einstein (not in OB).  I have walked through the maternity department a few times.  I believe all of their rooms are private.  When I asked other residents who delivered about their experiences at Einstein, they simply said, "well, it didn't cost me anything out of pocket."  They never gave me any details about their experiences.  The OB residents that I have met are very friendly.  I strongly suggest you take a tour of both facilities.  It may help in your decision.

However, I am going Lankenau for my delivery because I have heard great things about delivering there.

  • I had an emergency surgery at Einstein when I lost my baby on Christmas. I had a Dr. Fisch, he was very good. I believe he as two offices a new one in Roxborough and one at Einstein. I had an absolutely horrible experience made much easier by the staff and care I received there. He even called the day after I left to check in on me even though I was only his patient that one time.

  • Depends what you are looking for. Lank will definitely by far absolutely look worlds nicer than Einstein inside and out. You get pretty standard and routine higher intervention pregnancy thru birth and pp care at the MLH's hospitals, especially Lank. Einstein isn't going to look very attractive, the neighborhood leaves something to desire, but many women seeking lower intervention, more personalized individualized care are very happy with the docs and nursing staff there. That is my very simple take, I do realize there are plenty of people that will have good and bad stories to share from both ;) Ask around more for other women's experiences - people you trust, yk? Best!

  • I kow a few people who have delivered there. I can't say I've heard of any bad experiences but I also live close to Einstein but I chose to take the drive to Abington, personally I think its cleaner and the staff are more personable. Best wishes
