7 weeks post partum and still bleeding

I had a c-section 7 weeks ago. I bleed for 6 weeks and it slowed to a light brown. the day after my 6week appoinment i got my period. Exteremly heavy and passing clots (sorry if tmi) i bleed heavy like that for a week then lightend up to a more normal heavy flow. Ive been on this period now for 9 days. Im on birthcontrol and started it a week ago. Im concerned im bleeding too much and plan on calling my OBs office when they open. Has any other C-section mommy gone through or is going through this? Is this normal???. I did BF my baby for 3 weeks but had to stop cause he was eating so much that i couldn't produce enough for him. I will update when i talk to my OB. thanks for listening

I was still slightly spotting brown a little after 6 weeks PP with my section, but have you had your 6 week PP checkup yet? It's always something to bring up to your OB just to make sure she/he's okay with it. If you haven't either wait until that appt. or go ahead and give them a call if it will make you feel better, but everyone's body is different I would venture to guess this is probably normal for your body!

I bled on and off for about 8w. I still spot now and then, esp. if I work out. I am 11w pp.

With my first c/s I had spotting for 10 weeks pp. I saw my OB at that time, and she confirmed it was lochia still. She was not concerned as it was light brown at that time.

It went from heavy to light on and off for the first 8 weeks, and then finally started to taper off at 10 weeks. I then got my first pp af about 12 days later... fun times!!

I had my six week appointment the day before all this happend. I too at my six week appointment I was spotting light brown and she confirmed it to be lochia as well. I had asked what to expect for my first pp af and she said it will be really heavy. the next day i started my period along with the worst cramps in the world. I called the OBs office today and spoke to the nurse and she said I could have a AF for 2 weeks (Yikes!). they said as long as im not soaking a pad or tampon every hour i should be fine. and with being on birth control i can spot off and on for the first 3 packs. They told me to keep notes in case the bleeding doesn't stop, but the nurse reassured me that this is completely normal. She had also warned me that if I wasnt on birth control that it would take 6 months for my cycles to get normal. She had also said that you go 9 months without a period and then when you do get your period it comes back with a vengance. Im just glad to hear that this is normal and my mind is at ease. Thanks ladies for your advice and help. They certainly don't tell you what to expect after you have a baby.
