Runny nose for one week, no fever, but a cough has developed and his chest is "rattley"...hmm...how do I spell that made-up word?
Is this just a cold - or does a rattling chest make it something to be worried about?
Yes, I am calling my doc tomorrow....but opinions please ![]()

Re: Rattling in chest
yup I'd call.
not sure where you live but pneumonia is going around here like crazy. I am getting over it now and my dad and several friends all have had it.
What "most pedis" are you talking about? My doctor will see me for anything I want to see her for and by the end of the week if I'm calling on a Monday. I think if this is your pedi's policy you should be changing pedis. A rattling chest could absolutely be pneumonia, and should have a chest xray done to rule it out.
My son had the exact same symptoms. After 3 days we took him in and the Dr. said it was a virus and would go away on it's own in a few days. We used the humidifier for 1week but he didn't get better.
Took him in again and another Dr. saw him and said it was bronchitis. He received a breathing threatment and albuterol and meds at home.
GL and defenatelly call ur Dr.
