Does anyone know the price for breakfast for adults and for kids? Would I have to pay for Nico (he'll be 2)?
It looks from the website that I need to make a reservation. If we are staying in Downtown Disney, how long will it take to get to the restaurant? I think we have to purchase our tickets for magic kingdom and get on the monorail in order to get to there, right?
Sorry about all the questions. TIA!
Re: chef mickey's
This!
Also, if I remember correctly, adults ( age 10 and up) pay about $27 and kids (age 3-9) pay $15 (for breakfast), If you are going for dinner then it is pricier. I would call the restaurant to confirm the prices. And definitely, making a reservation is a very good idea. These character breakfasts book months in advance. I would book with a good minimum 3 months in advance, especially if you plan on going during high season. You don't "have to" have reservations but chances are you might not get seated or you will have to wait a long time so you are better off making reservations so you don't encounter any disappointments. Have fun!

The crystal palace breakfast is about 30 bucks per person. It's expensive.
Wow, that's crazy! We must've been lucky then because we booked breakfast 2 months in advance for Chef Mickeys for our trip in February 2011 and found a table (february is "low" season so maybe that's why). We went back in May 2011 for a last minute trip and were able to book the Crystal Palace for lunch 1 month before our trip. But yes, the moral of the story is the earlier you book the better!!

Jenny, by the way....when we went in May, we booked 2 adults and 2 kids. My parents ended up coming with us and what we did is showed up at the time of our reservation and told them we needed 2 more spots. They accommodated us without a problem. Just so you know in case you are able to get "2 spots" but need " 4 spots" (for example).
One more thing, make sure you reserve even for a baby who won't be eating. I learned this when I called one day trying to make changes to my reservation. They need to account for everyone, whether they are eating or not or whether they will require a chair or not.

I'm so bummed...I lost our reservations at Chef Mickey's for our December trip (which I booked several weeks ago) because now my parents, brother, and brother's girlfriend are coming with us. I had only reserved for the three of us and when I called the reservation hotline, they told me that they couldn't up my reservation to add four more adults I thought about possibly taking a chance and just showing up anyway and saying we had more people with us than what we reserved for, but the lady on the phone with me told me she'd advise against it because she says she's received calls from people before who do that and are told that they have to call to officially change the number of people in their reservation - otherwise they won't seat them. So I guess it just depends on how busy it is?!?! Anyway, I ended up making switching and getting a reservation at the Polynesian's restaurant...not quite as excited about it as I was about Chef Mickey's but it should still be nice.
Jen, it probably does depend on luck and how many extra people you want to accommodate. When I called they also told me they don't recommend to show up and try to add people, but we had nothing to lose and weren't expecting it to turn out the way it did. If I were you, I would keep the reservation you have at the Polynesian. I would only chance it the way we did if you are in the area anyway and are ok with going somewhere else if it doesn't work out. You'll have fun at the Polynesian I am sure! :-)

Give it a try though! People cancel all the time! I would try calling their reservation phone number for this because it might not show up on their online system if it's a last minute reservation. Have a great time on your trip!
