A DCA airport restroom inside Terminal C (US Airways) had a "Nursing Lounge" in the women's bathroom. It was equipped with a seat, a changing table and an outlet. I was able to pump there before my flight. I didn't have time on my layover to pump, so I can't report out on that. On my way back home, at the Tallahassee airport, the best I could find was a handicapped restroom stall that had it's own sink and an outlet. The outlet was too far away from the toilet to sit down, so I had to pump standing up, but at least it was close enough to the sink that I could set my pump there instead of the floor.
As for the work day (Friday), I pumped before I left the hotel in the morning, and as expected, I had a presentation followed immediately by two site visits, and then lunch. No time for breaks. I pumped at the airport at about 2:30pm, so there were 7.5 hours between pumping sessions. Then I got home at 10:30pm and was able to pump again, so another 8 hours between sessions.
Work travel and pumping is a challenge, and I can't say I look forward to juggling that on my week-long multi-state work trip later this month.
Re: Pumping while on work-travel - how I did.
Well, high five to you for doing it!
I had to attend a small conference when C was about 10 mos that had no accommodations for pumping (I asked) and ended up in the handicap stall for three days, but it all turned out all right. If you can do it in the morning and at night and at least once in the middle, I think you'll do all right. Better than nothing, that's for sure!
good for you for doing it and for not bursting! what about pumping on the plane?
That's great that you kept up with pumping. It takes some dedication to pump in a bathroom--what a good mama you are :-)
How did C do when you get home?

What a dedicated mom! I bet LO was thrilled to see you when you came home.
More Green For Less Green
I got home late Friday night and C was already asleep. On Saturday morning he nursed well, and I made myself available to nurse on demand. It is good to have the first work trip out of the way, but I'm still nervous about the big trip.
And I did feel like I was about to burst around 2pm, and then right when I got home at 10:30. I pumped immediately when I got home. But I was able to bring all the milk I pumped back home, so that was helpful. I will have to dump when I'm on my week-long trip.
