Spotting =(

Late afternoon yesterday at work, I had a little spotting and really bad bad aches so we rushed to my PC Dr; since my first OB appt isn't till 11/6, the OB wouldn't see me.  She managed to get me an emergency U/S at St. Jude but I guess hospital procedures are the U/S tech takes the images, sends them to the radiologist, who then reads them and faxes my PC Dr. the results.  So we have to wait till later this morning to find out if our little baby is okay.  The waiting is KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!  I slept about 3 hours and even took the day off from work cause I don't know if I can handle bad news at work.

So scared...We ran into my DH's neurologist at St. Jude who hung out with us while we waited and reassured us that spotting can be completely normal and that many women go on to have healthy pregnancies, but it's so scary.  Any reassuring stories of spotting with a happy ending?

Re: Spotting =(

  • Spotting is very scary. ?I have spotted with both my pregnancies. ?I actually gushed red blood at 6 weeks with my first. ?Turns out I have a spot on my cervix that gets really irritated and tends to bleed in my first trimester, nothing wrong with the baby.?

    ?I hope you get good news soon!?

  • That is scary and to have to wait for the news is even harder. Wishing you  all the best for you and your little one. =)

  • I started spotting around 5 weeks and had an u/s where we discovered 2 yolks.  I spotted for about 3-4 weeks after that, but as you can see, it all turned out well!  I was super nervous the whole time, but sometimes people just spot.  Hope you get good news this morning!
  • Hang in there. I know it can one of two ways. I had spotting with my second pregnancy, and all is ok. Spotting occurs in 70 percent of pregnancies. (according to my doc.)

    Keep us posted! I am praying for ya.

  • I'm not sure what spotting means, I have heard that sometimes it's okay, and other times not.  So it really depends.  Hope everything is okay! God bless.
  • Thank you for the good wishes!!  The ultrasound apparently is inconclusive cause the fetus is not visible cause it's too early.  But the gestation sac was the size it should be and a yolk sac was visible.  I haven't had any more spotting since yesterday.  My Dr. ordered blood tests for HCG levels so I did the 1st today, 2nd Saturday and have to wait till Tuesday to learn the news.  Sounds promising, though right?  Visible yolk sac is good news?
  • Sac is good! Keep us posted. Your levels will tell your doc everything is ok as well. Let us know how it goes!
  • spotting is def scary! ?i spotted at 5 weeks too and it ended up being nothing. ?hang in there and take it easy!

  • Spotting is so scarey.  I spotted with C at 9.5 weeks and with this pregnancy at 7 weeks and everything turned out ok.  Good luck and stay hydrated.
