bday invite

What would you do?  My friends daughters 1st bday is Nov 20 and shes having a party in a hall for her.  We got the invite today.  LO should be about a month old.  Would you RSVP yes or no to this party? also, would u take LO or just go for a quick appearance and have my mom babysit?

Honestly with a 1 month old at home, I probably wouldn't make any promises about showing up, it's just a 1 year old's bday party.  I have pretty much told everyone I see regularly (book club, bunco, etc), not to count me in for anything at least a month after I have the baby.  Not to mention your talking about going out in public to a little kid's party during flu season, I'd probably just skip it.

This exactly.  I can't predict how I will feel, how much sleep we'll be getting, what the flu season will be like, etc... and 1 month is too early to make any commitments.  I would RSVP 'maybe' and if she needs a definitive answer, I'd say no.

I was thinking this as well...I just hate to miss something! I have an engagement party the following weekend also but LO will be home with my mom or MIL for that one!
