Shrek when you hear the name Fiona?

I think its so pretty but when I've mentioned it to a few people they admitted it made them think of Shrek right away.

I know there are some mom's of Fionas on this board. Care to share the reactions you've received?

Hmm... I don't know that I would have if you hadn't pointed it out.

I don't think the connection is too strong, though. The name existed long before the movies.

I think of Fiona Apple before I think of Shrek. Weird, I know.

But no, I don't automatically think of Shrek. I think Fiona is a great name. Thumbs up from me.

No. I think I saw Shrek years ago when my nephew was still a little kid (he's 25 now). I would have never remembered Fiona was a name in that movie.

My mind immediately goes to Sherk, but because (as I have mentioned before) my son is currently on a Shrek kick (its all he watches).

That said, I think Fiona is a beautiful name.

Yes - but only because of my mother. Fiona is on our short list of girl names and when I told my mom, she got this look of horror on her face and said "like the ogre?!?" haha

I love it and really any name you come up with will have some sort of association with it.

I like the name Fiona and one of my friends sister's named her daughter that a few years back.

Yes, it does remind me of shrek. And apple. to be honest. But I do like it...

I actually think of The Thorn Birds first. Flora and Fauna second (not sure why), and shrek somewhere down the line. It's a great name, if you love it, use it!

I was shocked when I joined thebump and saw how many little Fiona's were out there. I think it's odd how people wouldn't think about it since there's SO.MANY.SHREK movies.

I like the name fine. However automatically think of the green princess.

I didn't think of it until you mentioned it. I really like the name Fiona, and I feel like the movies are on their way out and your LO won't be associated with them.

I love Fiona, it was on my list for both DD's!  Yes, I automatically think of Shrek and when I mentioned the name to others they made the same connection.  Even though they are making a Shrek 4 the movie will die out and the association will not be linked. 

My 2nd thought is Fiona Apple.  I like her music.

I don?t think of Shrek but maybe that?s because my older step-sister is called Fiona so I knew her before Shrek was even out :-p

#2 i do think shrek first, then EuroTrip (especially when scotty screams "fiiiiiiooooonaaaaa!", and then i start singing "scotty doesnt know..." in my head)
