About 9am, I started having waves of severe cramping down in the very lower part of my abdomen and groin area. They weren't growing in intensity, so I just continued going about my business at work, sitting at my desk. I finally called the doctor's office around 11am and the nurse had me start actually keeping track of the contractions, since she was convinced they were contractions. I kept track and realized I was having contractions every 5-7 minutes and they were lasting 50-70 seconds. The nurse called back an hour later and I let her know the "stats" on my contractions, to which she said the on-call doctor wanted me to go to the hospital and be monitored. So I went to the hospital about 2pm and was put on the monitor. About 2:45pm I was at 1cm, "still think" (she never told me an actual % of effacement). Keep in mind this past Monday at my weekly checkup I was "long and closed." At this point it was confirmed I was having regular contractions ranging from 3-5 minutes apart and 45-80 seconds long. At 3:45 I was checked again -- still at 1cm, still having regular contractions, but they were not getting closer and not getting much stronger. So, I was told that at 37 weeks, they don't stop your body from going into labor, but they also won't help it go into labor; therefore, I was sent home. So here I am at home, still having regular contractions ... wondering if this is it or if they're eventually going to subside. Either way, I'm glad to be back home.
Re: Back from L&D, but still having reg contrax
sounds familiar. i was always having BH contrax at my NSTs but always sent home b/c they never intensified etc..
GL and maybe this is it for you!
