Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Scale vs. inches

So I remain on the quest to lose the remainder of this baby weight... I've got 15lbs to go. I've been working hard but in the last 3 months I've only managed to lose about 5 lbs. However, DH has been taking comparison pics every 2 weeks and you can definitely see a difference. I'm curious though, can your body's "natural" weight change as you get older? For me 135 has always been my magic number. It feels like I'll never get back there! But maybe it won't matter. Is it possible to get back to the size in inches you used to be but be 10-15 lbs heavier on the scale? That seems like I would have had to gain a large amount of muscle for that to happen. Or maybe if I keep it up one day I'll see a bigger change on the scale all of a sudden. I mean, I'm glad to be seeing a change I just wish it was more drastic.

Re: Scale vs. inches

  • I have no idea...I am lighter in pounds now than I was when I graduated college, but I look heavier now and wear a size larger. Maybe it's the muscle thing...? But I feel like I am busier now, eat healthier, and do plenty of heavy lifting because of the kids and their stuff. It annoys me that the weigh doesn't come off easier!
