VBAC

Any VBA 2C?

Hey ladies.

So DH and I are considering trying for a third baby.  I would really really love to VBAC this time.  I attempted to VBAC with DS#2 but because of insurance reasons (cost of deductable) I wanted to have a 2010 baby (he was due Jan 4).  I ended up with a RC on Dec 30...DS had the cord around his neck twice so its a pretty good thing I didn't do TOL or he may have ended up emergency c-section.

My first c-section was due to fetal distress after 21 hours of labor...and I got to 8 cm.

Anyone have experience with a VBA2C???  If so, I'd love your advice or input!!

Re: Any VBA 2C?

  • First of all you will have to find a doctor who will be willing to help you accomplish this. I am not sure about the laws in ur state but in mine they do not allow Midwifes to take VBA 2c or more and it is difficult to find a doctor who is willing to do one.   I have done alot of research and this is what I have come up with if you really want a vaginal delivery;  Find a doctor you can trust, hire a doula who can help you achieve your goal. Doula 's are great they know position that can help with labor pains, trouble during births, ways to help dilate and they really do know how to make your birth experience how you want it. Then take a VBAC birthing class this will give you the knowledge and confidence you need to accomplish your goal.  I have a great birthing instructor in my area and she might be able to help you find one in your area or at least tell you what kind of birthing program to look for, her name is Kyndal May and her site is www.babybumpservices.com  then just have confidence in yourself. I read a VBAC pregnancy book and there where several women who had successful VBAC after two to three C-sections.  So if they can do it, I believe it can be done! Good Luck!
