Okay, we just got back from our U/S and we still have a heartbeat! Yeah! I was measuring a little bit differently from my first US, and of course that had me worried. But my doctor said not to worry becasue MFM did my first one and their machines are different. This early, the littlest measurement difference throws things a few days off. So my doctor had me at 9 weeks 0 days and I should have been at 9 weeks 3 days according to the last U/S.
Since my doctor's not worried, I will do my best to also not be worried and celebrate that there is still a heartbeat.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and words earlier!
Re: Yeah U/S # 2
Yay! Such great news!
They are right on about the dating/size differential early on. My Dr's u/s machine actually said "+/- ___ days" at the end of the line where the estimated date was located, and it was often 5-6 days "+/-" the measurement. One little movement of the cursor that measures length makes all the difference, so different techs and different machines can have different readings.
San I just say "Yay!" one more time?

Yay! Congratulations on a great u/s!
I'm not sure what MFM is, but I had one ultrasound at the hospital and one at the OBs office. My hospital ultrasound was 4 days off! She said that it was because the baby was so fuzzy that early on it is hard to get an accurate measurement. At the OBs office, they said that they had more accurate equipment... so I'm thinking it was a combination of the two!

FWIW, my doc said today that the error rate very early on (I'm earlier than you, about 6w2d) is about 5 days, so 3 days is well within in that.
