Baby Names

naming twins!

I found out Monday that my twins are a boy and a girl. I'm so excited, but the naming issue is a little daunting!

I love the name Nora, either by itself or maybe as a nickname for Eleanor, but we are definitely still considering other girl names.

Any suggestions for a boy name that would go well with Eleanor/Nora?

What would YOU name a boy/girl twinset?

Thank you!

  • I love the name Eleanor!  And Nora is adorable.

    b/g twins rock! Mine are Delaney Grace and Harrison (Harry) Timothy. Other boy  names we considered were Jack, Jasper, Derek, James, Timothy and Henry

    They are so much fun, but trust me naming them will be the easy part! ;)

    Congrats!

  • My personal opinion on naming twins is that they are two people you are naming, you should not look for a name that "matches". Of course since Eleanor is in a classic style, staying with the same style of name will compliment all your children.

     Henry, Jack, Samuel, Anthony, Jacob, Matthew, Oliver, Richard.

    A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
    After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
    My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Eleanor with the nickname Nora is darling! I love it. I would suggest Theodore but it's kind of matchy and would, obviously, be a little cheesy. I think Henry, Owen, Thomas, Graeme, William, or Oliver would be cute. Good luck!

  • I really like Eleanor and James together... Nora and James

    Also like Henry, Jackson (nora and Jack is adorable) Samuel, Lucas all with it

    my b/g twins today would prob be Donovan (nn Van) & Helena (Lainey)

  • I love the name Nora! It is beautiful and classic.  For a boy's name, I would go with something classic... but it doesn't have to be too matchy!

     If I was going to use the name Nora, I think I would go with James, Connor, or Grant,

    I totally agree! I'm looking only for a boy's name that would match in style, I would probably avoid another "N" name because I wouldn't want them to be too matchy.

    Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone! Please keep them coming! :)

  • My twinset would be Margot and Cormac or Linus. But for Eleanor, nn Nora, I would do another timeless, classic name with a nice nickname to match Eleanor. I'd suggest William, Alexander, Ezekiel (Zeke is so cute!), Nicholas, or Matthew. I also like Leo and Nora, maybe Leopold? Not sure what other Leo- names there are.

  • I def agree not to find a "matchy" name. But I sort of like the idea of NN's within the name

    ie - Eleanor =  Nora and

    William = Liam

    Harrison = Harris

    ~Welcome to the world, Presley Ann!! *8/16/11* 8 days late!
  • Cora Simone (MN was my grandmother's name) or Camellia Bryn for a girl

    Carson Gabriel or Andrew (Drew) Gabriel for a boy

    I love the names Eleanor and Nora too (probably because I <3 Cora), very pretty!

  • My nana's name is Elena but her siblings called her Eleanor (not sure why, her name is definitely Elena).  Her brothers's names were Edmund and Louis.  I like both of them with Eleanor/Nora

  • Eleanor and Samuel.

    I think we'd name b/g twins Margaret Victoria and Gregory Sykes.
