I've been on bed rest and nifedipene with an irritable uterus since week 28. Bed rest was probably the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. (I know that sounds totally stupid to those who haven't been forced to lay on an aching hip for weeks on end, literally ALONE with your worries because everyone else is out working and living their lives.) I finally hit 37 weeks on tuesday and was able to stop the drugs and get up! Its fantastic to be able to walk around, leave the house, take a walk, etc. However, I've been contracting like CRAZY since I've gone off the drugs. Not too painful - just tight and uncomfortable. They make it difficult to sleep because they're always worse at night. Doc warned me that this was likely to happen and said not to bother coming in until they become painful. I just don't know what to do with contractions coming every 5 minutes! Should I lay down or take a bath to try to get them to stop? Should I take a walk to try to kick them up a notch?? DH is encouraging me to do everything I can to keep baby in for the full 40 weeks (tries to keep me on the couch, off the stairs, continued pelvic rest, etc) to make sure she's as healthy as possible when she's born. But I'm sooo done with this! I'd like my daughter to do the responsible thing and move out before I have to evict her!
Re: Just about done with this...
