I have a 2.5 month old right now and I'm starting to do my research on 2under2. To me it makes sense, get the diapers over with in one shot, the first baby wont be walking yet through majority of my pregnancy, after the second I can get the IUD and work on getting my body back and they'll be close in age so they can do play dates together etc. But after reading what others say and some horror stories I'm worried I'm being naive. Any advice?? TIA
Re: In the process....
This. I would definitely get back into shape before getting pregnant again though. I'm not talking 6 pack abs, but lose the baby weight and get into a good exercise routine. Being pregnant back to back can be really hard on your body. My second pregnancy was a lot more uncomfortable than my first, but I exercised the entire time and had a very easy recovery. It helps to be in good shape, when you have to chase after a toddler and take care of a baby.
I love having my girls close in age. They are already great friends and it's been amazing watching them grow up together.
Are there horror stories of 2u2? Absolutely. I didnt make our family plans based on that first year being more challenging though. When the kids are 5 and 6, it's not going to matter if they were 1 year apart or 4 years apart. FWIW I dont think 2u2 has been all that hard for me personally.
GL with whatever you decide!
