If you don't like something someone posts, defriend them or hide them from your newsfeed. People have the right to post what they want on their Facebook pages. Like I said, I don't really want to see 1000s of phots of someone's kid, thus I use the hide feature.

In my OP I clearly stated I defriended her immediately upon seeing the photos. My problem with them was that I had no choice in seeing them. When you are reading a status, you have time to stop reading and exit the page if you are upset by something. I signed on FB and my mini feed was bombarded with some of the most graphic and horrifying images I have ever seen. That was my problem with it.

Bush wasn't exactly the best president, but Obama has just done absolutely NOTHING. What positive changes has the man put into action during his time? Uh, a whole lot of nothing. All he managed to do was make a lot of promises that he couldn't keep. I think it's time we stop letting the boys play and put a woman in office, then we'll actually see some $hit get done!

I would love to see a poll on whos Dem, Rep, Independant & if anyone switched sides from one to the other since the last election. One word answer, don't defend, don't explain, don't debate. Everyone would probably get their panties in a twist though because there is always someone who needs to voice why they are right. Just for curiousities sake.

Typically just a lurker but have to respond.... I didn't even vote in the 2008 election because I didn't really like either of our candidates and didn't feel strongly either way. However, I wouldn't say that Obama has done NOTHING- DH and I were 1st time home buyers this year and because of Obama's influence, we were given $8,000 by the government! Our government is totally in debt and probably shouldn't be handing out money like this but hey- it definitely is going to help us in some big ways SO THANK YOU OBAMA for that.
Actually the first time home buyer credit was intiated in 2008 by Bush. Except when he did it, it was $7500 & you paid it back over 15 years interest free out of your tax return. Obama did nothing but extend it, increase it & remove the requirement to pay it back. IMHO it should be paid back. Our government & economy is not in a position to be handing out that kind of cash & in all honesty it barely made a blip in the housing crisis.

Welp...then yay for Bush! But thank you to Obama for extending and increasing it and not making us pay it back, even though we are still paying more now for other things than we used to. It is what it is- I mean really things cannot change in a matter of 3 years. We cannot expect to solve the debt crisis issue this soon. Obama even admitted that it is going to take at least 8 to 10 years to dig ourselves out of this hole and actually start to see a difference- same amount of years we spent digging our own hole. Anybody- no matter who the president is- would be having a difficult time dealing with this. Some things may be different- but nothing would be 100%. What a crappy time to be the president.
Umm wow. Yes, because that's what federal give aways do, make us pay more for other things. Thank goodness that's all it did.
And, sadly, that's why he'll be re-elected. As long as he keeps dishing out "free" money, those on the receiving end will keep praising him. I remember some of my friends excited that he was getting elected because they couldn't wait for their "free" check...

The sad reality is that regardless of your party affiliation, the government has failed us all. Washington DC has become the Hollywood of politics where it's all about the money you have, the people you know, and the scandals you can be involved in.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a democrat and I voted for Obama (only because Hilary didn't make it all the way through and I for damn sure didn't want McCain in office) Am I happy with the way things are going? No. Is it all Bush's fault? No. Is it all Obama's fault? no. We all bear some blame because we are not doing anything to ensure that our government is "For the people, by the people, of the people" In the past, we willingly gave up our rights to that because we trusted that our government was here to protect us.
What we really need in order to see change, is a complete overhaul of our government. We need new parties, new ideas, and a renewed sense of community. Instead of banding together as Americans, we've allowed ourselves to be pitted against each other as "repubs" and "dems." When, in actuality, we're all being screwed.
