I just got my class list for "Sunday school" and was delighted to see I had Cabrini as a student again this year. Didn't think much about it last year as we weren't TTC and I wasn't so obsessed with baby names.. but what do you think? Is is made up? Ever heard of it? I've never heard it before. She goes by the nickname Nini.
I like it, but I'm super biased because she is absolutely adorable and like my favorite student ever. I do think it kinda sounds like a disney princess.

Finished BC and not preventing since June 2010.
Actively trying for baby #1 since July 2011.
SA completed 5/29/2012. No sperm found.
11/12: Dx: Congenital Bilateral Absense of the Vas Deferens.
Genetic Testing needed as this is a mutation of Cystic Fibrosis.
IVF #1 with ICSI planned for 2013.
PAIF/SAIF welcome!
Re: Cabrini
I've never heard it before and I don't like it. the "ini" ending reminds me of bathing suits...or underwear.
"Coming to Victoria's Secret in a shopping mall near you... Cambrini cut panties...get them before they're gone!!"

Yep! And that is NOT a good association!

I assume it's after the saint. She was an Italian nun who came to America and along with other nuns of her order set up a bunch of hospitals and orphanages. And she was the first American citizen to be canonized. I wouldn't have thought of it as a first name, but I can see why an Italian and/or Catholic family would use it, and I think it's kind of cool. (My DD has my mom's Italian surname as her first name so I might just be weird that way.)
Yes!
This is what I was thinking!
At first I thought it sounded made up too, but after reading others' responses--yes, it totally reminds me of Candyman! I forgot about that.
NMS.
I used to live on Cabrini Blvd in NYC; when I was talking to someone at the U of Chicago about housing for my Master's program, the guys actually paused when I gave my address thinking I was talking about the projects.
Anyway, the there is a Church dedicated to Mother Cabrini (and an all girl's Catholic High School; guess how many boys 'hang out' across the street around 3pm lol) about a block away from my old apt where she lies on display. I still live in the area and I never went. One of these days.
This. You know, where Good Times took place. A pretty infamous place and pretty much the national symbol of bad public housing.

I think Cabrin is nicer than Cabrini.
