I just got back from our first hypnobirthing class, and if you have the ability to take one of these I HIGHLY recommend it!
We spent a lot of the first class talking about the history of labor, failure to progress, learning stories about unwanted medication being applied, unnecessary c-sections, etc. (It was weird since we were debating on this similar topic on a different thread today.)
The focus of the class is to teach you that labor does not have to be
traumatic and painful. Our bodies were made to do it, and the course teaches techniques to help you have a more comfortable birth. We have 5 more courses, so I'm no expert yet, but I'm very excited about the class and I hope I can follow through with becoming a hypnobirthing mama!

So glad you liked it! We loved our class and it was so comforting to go over all the physiological steps of labor and the effects of stress on that process. The midwife/hypnotherapist who taught the class has participated in hundreds of births and it was comforting to know that as well.
Good luck with the rest of the class!
