And do you like it? I was raised in SW Washington state and have lived in Oregon since college. I am fascinated by other states and secretly want to live in the south and talk like Paula Deen.

Re: Where do you live?
I live in FL and I hate it. I hate it only slightly more than I hated living in Carson City NV, at least there I had mountains and seasons.
I grew up in upstate NY, I've lived in Cali, HI and MA I loved MA and where I grew up the most.
I live just outside of Pittsburgh. I love it here. I like the seasons, it's an awesome sports town and the cost of living is great. Plus my family is here. We lived in central PA and Philadelphia for a few years and hated it.
Now that I have a kid I don't see us moving anywhere. But DH and I have considered Raleigh, Austin or Minneapolis if we did up and move.
Valentineg:
Do you have any recommendations for resturants in Pitts...my husband travels there a lot and never knows where to stop to get something good to eat.
We live just outside of Calgary, Alberta. It's nice here, I look at the rockies everytime I look outside my window. But I miss my hometown sometimes. I grew up in Ottawa, Ontario.
<----- Southeast Massachusetts. We like it (mostly). We get all 4 seasons (love the fall). We're only a few minutes from the ocean and an hour or so from The Cape (Cape Cod to you non-locals). We can be in the mountains in half an hour. Both of our immediate family are all within 20 minutes.
That said, the HCOL sucks. A lot of areas that used to be rural are getting really overpopulated/commercialized (I suppose that's a lot of places though) which means a lot more crappy drivers. We're not dead set against moving. We'd actually like to find somewhere more suited to us but where have no idea where that is just yet. We want to visit a few more places (like the NW) before we decide.
Life with Blog
We live in Nebraska. Always have, probably always will. I would love to move to Colorado, but that will probably never happen. I like it here, so I'm ok with that.
Southeast Michigan about 10 minutes from Ohio.
I live SE of Pittsburgh, PA. I've moved around PA most of my adult life, but this is where I grew up and I love it. I have no plans on moving. I like this time of year, when all the leaves change and fall off the trees. I hate winter though.

Eleven is a great restaurant. It's in the Strip District, on/off Penn Ave. downtown. It's a little pricey, but maybe your husband's company is paying? My brother is the wine director there, and it's very good.

Atlanta, in the city. I like it OK. It's easier to forget I live in the bible belt in the city, and I live in a particularly groovy part of town, but my dream has always been to move either to the NW or Colorado. It has come to me that if I stay here forever, that will probably be my greatest regret. We are currently trying to decide what the best plan of action is to get us out there and still, you know, have SOME stability and food on the table.
I grew up mostly in MI, now I live in SC.
I live in MI too
i actually love living in MI. I could not live somewhere that did not have 4 seasons. i really do not ever see us leaving the state.
I grew up in Southeast Texas. Married at 22, moved to St Louis, MO. Lived in STL for two years, moved to Michigan for a year, and now we're back in St Louis until May. We're moving at the end of May, but we don't know where we're going to be sent.
ETA: Forgot to add...hate living in the Mid-West. I would LOVE to go back to Texas or somewhere in the South.

Southern CT. I have never lived anywhere else and I like it ok but the cost of living is outrageous. We are considering moving to MA near the RI border where my SO is from but that won't really help the cost of living factor.
It is nice here though. 4 seasons, the ocean
My husband just had to travel there for work last week...weird! He said it was beautiful but in the middle of effing nowhere!
I was born/raised in Pittsburgh, lived in central PA for 10 years, now I'm back in Pittsburgh...thank God!!
DH and I would like to retire to SC
Am I the only southerner??? Ha!
I live in Alabama. I lived in TN during college, but other than those 4 years, I have always lived in Alabama.
And yes, I love it here...even with our ridiculously hot and humid summers. I can't imagine the freezing and snowy winters that those of you up north experience!
I was just in your town the other day!
I almost had to move to Alabama. My ILs live there. What's your weather like there now?
We live in South Texas. I grew up in NY, went to college in DC, then moved to Cairo, Egypt when I married DH (he's military). We evacuated in February and moved to Texas.
I was not so wild about Cairo when we were there, but I miss it now. I do not enjoy South Texas at.all. I miss having seasons. It's still over 100 degrees here.
