I'm getting ready to leave the hospital today in about an hour. I'm really upset about leaving Cameron here by herself. I wish I was taking her home but I'm ready to sleep in my own bed.
Cameron is still doing awesome! The NICU doctors are SO happy about the way she is tolerating everything. I fed her my breast milk for the first time today through her tube feed. She came off the ventilator beautifully and has been doing awesome just on the CPAP for a couple of days now! She had her brain ultrasound and everything looks good. She is the sweetest little baby and I love her so much I can't even stand it!! She's got the most beautiful blue eyes and my heart melts every time she looks up at me while I'm changing her diaper She'll be getting a PICC line probably on Friday and that's when we can start kangaroo care. I've never been so excited about anything in my whole life!
And ladies, my breast milk has REALLY come in. My boobs have about doubled in size, they are SO enormous (I was really small to begin with though lol). They are constantly engorged and I can't pump enough. Recovery from the c-section has been fine. I haven't had any issues at all and I'm starting to feel really good again physically. You honestly forget what it's like to not be pregnant but I promise you, one day you will feel normal again!!! I posted a postpartum pic for HDBD... my new body is so weird lol. You ladies all look beautiful though!! Can't wait to see those 40 week bellies and babies!!!!!

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear you get to go home. I know it will be emotional as I went home w/o little one but get your rest & use this time to get everything in order for when she does come home!
PS - You look amazing in your PP picture! I know I def won't look like that!

I'm so glad she is doing well.
Engorged boobs do not feel good, I remember that feeling. Try not to over pump though as it will tell your body to produce more and you'll just be more engorged. I'd probably try a 2-3 hours schedule for pumping.
Good luck with everything!
yay for health! and yay for your breast milk coming in!
btw, for those of you ladies still interested in buying something off of the bumpie-created registry, you can find it on amazon under the name (first) cutcopypaste and (last) bump. or just click here.
Congratulations! I am so happy for you and that your little girl is doing so well. I can't imagine how it will be for you to go home without her, but this way you are making sure you are taking care of yourself and getting rested so that you are all ready for when you are able to bring her home! And hopefully the past 4 days have given you some security in seeing the hospital staff working and knowing that they will take good care of her for you when you are not there.
All the best on your recovery!!

Just checked out your pic... you look Amazing! I am excited to get back to my pre-pregnancy belly but at the same time not really... I think I am kind of gonna miss the belly baby. I know I will have him/her to hold. But I think its gonna be weird not being pregnant.
