I have a question about hemp doublers/inserts.

I bought a few online and planned to use them once the boys started leaking in their overnight doubled-up microfiber BG diapers (they haven't yet). I think I read somewhere to wash hemp or organic inserts separate from microfiber ones.  Is this the case? I can't remember where I read it. I haven't prepped the hemp yet. Is it a different process than microfiber?

Edited title - anyone with advice would be awesome.

You have to prep separately, but you can wash it all together when you use it.

I bought just a bit of hemp, so I boiled for 30 min rather than washing 3 little inserts on their own 5 times. You have to get the natural oils out before you use it.

Ok, that is definitely what I read somewhere. It's good to know that once prepped it can be washed together, though.

Yeah, I always boil my hemp to prep it.  Honestly, I've been using these same hemp inserts for like 2.5 years and have never had a single issue with them, minus some stitching coming loose. Bamboo is the same way. I just really love natural fibers over MF any day.

You don't have to wash them separately, but they do need to be prepped separately to keep the oils in the natural fibers from getting into the MF.  I just boil new hemp inserts for 30 minutes and then run them through a hot wash cycle.

Late but ditto. I PPH hemp.
