Hopefully it will be resolved soon!
Our school district is also without a contract, the teachers went on an illegal strike last week. Four days before a judge ordered them back in the classrooms.
DS - June 2006
DD1 - November 2007
DD2 - August 2010
I hear ya. I taught all last year w/o a contract, non-tenured. It caused a lot of tension between old and young teachers b/c it was about realigning the salary schedule, after the original contract was resolved.
Don't let them force you into anything. Don't sign anything or participate in union activities. In fact, our union left the non-tenured teachers out of thing like that. It is the board and the administration who will eventually give you tenure- NOT the union. You don't want to get let go on your tenure year b/c they are trying to make a point, you know?
