Being sick.  I ended up in the hospital last night because for 2 days my abdomen has been in serious pain.  Turns out I have a kidney infection and they found some kind of mass in my abdomen too.  Well my LO is 6 months and still up several times a night.  I was prescribed vicodin but can't take it so I can get up and care for her.  My husband is a marine and not home very much so it's really trying.  If LO would just sleep through the night I would be able to deal with this so much easier.  I am able to bite my lip and deal with the pain with some tears through the day but at night it seems so much worse.  And our family is in MI and all my friends can't really help since it's during the week.  Uggg.

I'm so sorry.  That has to be very difficult and I hope you are feeling better soon.  Are there any friends who could possibly help for a few hours after work so that you can get some rest and relief?  Is your husband home at all this week?  I worry that if you can't take care of yourself, you'll get worse.

oh my gosh, i'm so sorry. I have a cold and have been complaining all week now I feel like a brat!  Make sure you try to get some rest!  Screw the laundry and dishes, etc... sleep when the baby sleeps like when they were tiny! feel better!

I am so sorry.  Maybe you can find a daycare that does daily rates and you could drop your LO for an afternoon while you get rest?

I had a bi-lateral kidney infection when the girls were about 3 months old, so I feel your pain there!  It sucks!  They didn't give me any pain meds, but the antibiotic shot they gave me kicked in pretty quickly!  I still will get a little twitch of pain in my plank and I freak out thinking it is going to happen again!  Being sick is no fun!  I am on my way to the Dr. today because my allergies either are so bad that my throat is raw, or I have strep throat. No fun!  I hope you feel better soon!

If it's really bad your DH should stay home to care for your LO so you can rest.

That must be really hard. A couple weeks ago I had severe abdominal pain and I was home alone. I ended up leaving DD cry in her crib while I lay crumpled on the floor. It passed, thank god. I can't imagine what you're going through.

I had my tonsils out last week so I understand where you're coming from. It's very hard to be sick and in pain while being a mom. I've shed so many tears over the last week and am just now starting to be able to go more than 4 hours without hydrocodone. 

Can you go on care.com or sittercity.com and get some last minute hired help? I know it's not ideal, but even if you're laying on the couch watching them, you can still rest. Either that, or can one of your friends sleep there and take the night shift, so you can recharge for the next day? 

I'm sorry you're going through this. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Hi. I live in Alexandria, about 30 min from you. I'm sure it would be weird as hell for me to offer to watch your kid, but I can offer to run an errand for you. I'm headed to the commissary later today, and can pick up a few things if you need since it sounds like running errands is out of the question.

that sucks.  any single friends you can call in for backup?  Before LO I would have done that (gone and stayed with a friend who needed an extra set of hands and eyes) in a heartbeat.  Heck I still would, H would just be on his own while I did it.  You don't need to have things get worse, you need some time to rest.
