Baby with a cold? Vit C?

My DD has her first cold.She just seems stuffed up and coughs. A friend of mine suggested letting her suck the juice out of an oranage. She's 6.5 months, I thought citrus wasn't supposed to be offered until later. My friend can be a little out there, so I wanted to see what others thought!

I don't think I would start citrus at 6 months, but he has sucked a lemon wedge around 9 months and was fine.

Vitamin C doesn't cure colds so I wouldn't bother.

Get Boogey Wipes, mine wouldn't let me wipe his nose all week then i got those & he loves them.  Also there's a cold & flu euculyptus bath bubbles that i got at BRU that seemed to help.  no citrus until 1 i thought also.

Saline spray, booger sucker, Vicks baby rub (I like the Target brand), Ibuprofen if he seems cranky and achy, Tylenol if he's running a fever, cool mist humidifer (with the vicks liquid if he's super congested), take him into the bathroom while a hot shower is running if he's got a cough.

That's about all you can do.

Crappy advice.

Just keep her hydrated, use a humidifier, give tylenol if she seems uncomfortable and be extra patient.

DS had his first cold and our pedi said we could only do saline drops with boggie sucker, humidifier, and tylenol. I also used the baby body wash that helps with congestion but it didn't seem to help. I just wiped his nose often and was patient
