Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What is this BS about 9 month regression?

I am sure you all are sick of hearing questions about this but is it a real thing? Sleep regression at 9 months? The last week Mollusk has suddenly been taking two bottles at night, been up 3 or 4 times and I feel like I have jumped in the TARDIS (nerd reference sorry) and am back at 4 months.

I never went through the four month wakeful because she was already up all the time.

So is this a real thing or is it just BS, the only things I can find seem to be other post on message boards.

ETA: I know she's not 9 months yet, she's just an overachiever.

Oh and she's dropped her morning nap.

  • I haven't heard of this one. However, I have heard that there's a growth spurt around 9 months. Maybe that's what's going on? I'm sorry.

I need to hop in the TARDIS and travel back to when my hair wasn't falling out. Please and thanks.

  • I have never heard this.  Could be a growth spurt.  We didn't experience this with DD, nor the 4 month wakeful.   Sorry, hope it ends soon and your LO goes back to 'normal'.
  • My daughter slept more at 9 months. But she was insatiable at nursing so I chalked it up to a growth spurt.

  • Thanks guys.

There seems to be a bunch of moms that have had issues with it, but all the info is just from other message boards. It must be a growth spurt thing.  We had less issues when she was teething.

KJ, you can borrow the TARDIS anytime.

  • Every time I ask my Pedi about these scheduled sleep regressions or growth spurts he look sat me cross-eyed. He said since most babies are getting mobile around the 9 month mark, they don't sleep as well. They're all hopped up on energy and the discovery of being able to crawl and stuff.
