Chawn?

DH received an e-mail today from a mister with the fn Chawn. Is this pronounced like Shawn? Is this a made up name? Just curious about the name and was wondering if you ladies had ever came across it. Also, what you think about it?

I think it is supposed to be like Shawn.

Shawn is how my brother spells his name, but Chawn? WTF?!?

I had a student once names Shon, pronounced Shaun.

Have never seen it but dislike..  I just see Yawn or chew  when I glance at it - neither being very attractive

Umm.  Maybe the "c" is silent, like in "Chanukah."

Shawn is charming, Chawn is..interesting!
