I didnt intentionally try either way, but I charted so I am aware of when I conceived with my first pregnancy.
My son should have been a daughter.
I'd be tempted to try if I really wanted a daughter (at this point I don't care) but I'm afraid DH's desire to only have boys far outweighs my slight itch for a girl. I'm pretty sure once the sperm hit the egg DH jumped up and said, "Boom, there's my boy!" and that was that.

We conceived our DS the day before I ovulated, I think (I charted, but sometimes my temp up could lag a little bit), so no I don't think if we were trying to follow that method that it worked.

We had sex once 5 days before I O'd with DS, so obviously it didn't hold true for us (we weren't trying for a specific sex). With DD the last time we had sex was 2 days before O, so I don't remember what that would mean.
DS born via c/s 11/08 and med-free GD VBAC DD 3/11!
Since I was charting and we were actively TTC we were having lots of sex. So who's to know if it was the sperm from a few days before or the sperm from the day of that got to the egg first.
