Along with BM, he eats breakfast, lunch and dinner. His menu consists of sweet potatoes, beets, green beans, all kinds of squash, peaches, mango, ok I'm not going to list everything. It's a lot. We just started with some finger food. I started out with organic, whole grain cheerios. I was going to avoid grains before 12m, but I figured a few cheerios here and there won't hurt. He also eats small chunks of naners as finger food. I'm waiting until 8m to start on meat based proteins.

My 7 1/2 month old eats bits of most anything we are eating that I consider healthy food, and not the junk that I enjoy in copious quantities... He has been eating puffs for at least a month, and we started Cheerios this week although he isn't great at picking them up. He loves applesauce, potatoes, chicken and peaches - sometimes pureed, sometimes in small chunks. He also eats small chunks of avocado, banana, plums, pickles, beans, sweet potatoes, carrots... basically whatever I have or can think of that is easy, healthy and baby friendly...
Thank you for the info. We are giving our LO 3 meals a day with formula in between. I just wasn't sure about starting any finger foods yet. I know I will constantly worry about choking especially when it isn't me feeding him during the day because I work full time.
He eats most fruits and veggies now. I'm mostly buying local, seasonal things at the farmer's market so right now it's mostly apples, pears, carrots, sweet potatoes, parsnips, pumpkin, and squash . We still have frozen peas, green beans, mangos, papaya, and plum. Occasionally I will mash up or dice a banana or avocado. For protein, he's getting pieces of whatever meat we're eating (chicken, turkey, pork chop, steak) or broccoli cheddar nuggets or turkey meatloaf from www.wholesomebabyfood.com. Dairy - either plain yogurt mixed with fruit puree or flavored baby yogurt, 4% large curd cottage cheese, or shredded cheese (cheddar, colby jack, mozzarella). Grains - oatmeal or mixed grain cereal, pancakes, corncakes, toast, or pasta.
He gets a 7 oz bottle every 4 hours or so and about 6 oz of solids 1 - 1.5 hours after his bottle, 3 times per day. We started him on finger foods like puffs and yogurt melts around 6 months and now he's eating all sorts of (soft, cooked) finger foods.

I was terrified of this too. I told our pedi I wasn't in to the puffs and he suggested cheerios. Because they have a hole in the middle, babies are less likely to choke. If the cheerio happens to get stuck, air will still be able to get through. Of course, there is always that chance that the cheerio will lodge a certain way and that will not be the case, but I trust my pedi's opinion. My parents did the same thing with us. After J got used to swallowing the cheerios, we introduced bananas. He hasn't choked or gagged once and he's doing great!

Everything except peanuts and honey. He eats homemade and jarred baby foods, but plays with and tries whatever we have for meals. Scrambled eggs, cheese, yogurt, toast, cheerios, oatmeal, grilled cheese, pieces of ham or turkey, soups, pastas, raw fruits, cooked veggies, popcicles (the fruit kind), taco stuff, kashi meals, sunbutter, quiche, breakfast strata, lasagna, meatload, etc.......
