Have you ever had air ducts cleaned in your house?

We've lived in our current house for 5 years and have never had the air ducts cleaned. I'm sure they're pretty bad. Called a company to inquire how much it would cost - $575!! Yikes. The square footage of our house, including the finished basement, is 3,900. The company seems pretty thorough, and our house is big, but does that still seem high??

We try to get it done every year.  My husband and son have bad allergies, so we do whatever we can to help that.  I think ours has been $250-$300, and our house is only just over 2000 sf, so I think that sounds fairly reasonable.  I would get a couple quotes for sure, though.
