For those of you with nannies or had a nanny. Do you give the nanny a house key?

Re: Nanny Question

  • Yes. Our Nanny has a house key. She started when DS was 6 weeks old and I had 2 weeks of Maternity leave left, so I wanted her to be able to come in without waking me if I was sleeping. DS was still BF and I was trying to sleep in between feedings. Now she lets herself in, and has been able to run over to the house in an emergency when we were out of town.
3 yrs ttc, 3ivfs, 4 iuis and finally a baby boy! And then a girl to follow. 2 under 2!

  • I don't know why I never thought to give her a key...well, yesterday she locked herself out of the house after going for a walk with DD. Luckily they got home about 5 minutes before me so they didn't have to wait long.

  • Our nanny has a key so she can take DD out for walks and to do stuff during the day.  I'm a little jealous you live somewhere that you can leave your doors unlocked.  I've been in NY so long I forgot that we used to do that growing up in OH.
  • Our nanny has a key as well.
