I know there have been a few posts about this and I think that I might have even responded to one or two of them, but I can't stop worrying about cramping. Up until 5.5 weeks, I was having moderate cramps - they aren't similar to MY menstrual cramps, but I get terrible endo cramps so you can't really compare. They were bad enough that they made me worried. The cramping subsided as the morning sickness started around 5.5 weeks-6.5 weeks, and then the last few days I have started to get moderate cramps again. (I have not had any spotting at all).
Today it's 3pm and I've only had them at one point, for maybe like 10 minutes, but yesterday I felt like I had them for a few hours. I THINK that yesterday's was gas-related but I can't be sure. I just feel like I could really start to relax if it were not for these cramps. I started to feel better when I read that uterine stretching is particularly painful for girls with endo who have adhesions and scar tissue, like me, and that causes cramps, but then my doctor kind of blew that off and said "everything looks great; the cramps are the only thing that concerns me.." which of course has sent me into a tailspin of craziness. I was also thinking that maybe there is a correlation between hunger and the cramps, and wearing too tight clothes? Thoughts??

I had some really bad cramps week 5-6 and they have seem to go away. I had them so bad it woke me from a dead sleep a few nights. I think it was gas/bathroom related. I can't say it was ever as bad as it was before being pregnant but I think that's all it was. Hope it's the same for you.

I had a ton of cramping similar to AF if not worse from about weeks 3-5. It got less and less and now I am about 8 weeks and I hardly have any. Just intermittent twinges. But I take that as a sign that baby is growing and so is my uterus.I try to keep small amounts of bland food in my tummy to ward off hunger pains or m/s and so far so good. Only occasional nausea.
Try not to worry too much, okay?!
Yes, one thought: why the HECK would your dr say that to you?! I'd probably chew him out in a rage of hormones and find another ASAP!
Things NOT to say to a pregnant woman unless there is something seriously wrong, yeesh...
I'm experiencing significant cramps as well. From what I've read, they're completely normal. I have my first OB visit and u/s tomorrow - I'm sure I'll post back that everything is fine and it's just growing pains
Thanks so much you guys. UGHH, I don't know about the doctor either!!! This is the same guy (when I was having problems TTC) who told me that it is impossible for women not to ovulate if they are bleeding each month, and that I didn't need any intervention at all for my stage iv endo (we already knew it was stage iv) and shouldn't pursue having endo excision. He ended the appointment by telling me: "I'll see you soon for your first prenatal visit!". It turned out that I had an FSH number of 13.4 AND my bowel, uterus and bladder were all fused together from the endo, none of which I would have ever known if I had listened to him. So I am probably not dealing with the brightest crayon in the box. The doctors in my area just suck and I honestly don't know why as I am in a major metro area! If any DC/Northern VA girls are reading this and you have a normal doctor, please let me know. This guy was the best out of the four practices I tried and that's not saying much.
Okay, so I don't know what kind of progesterone I am taking. I even looked on the prescription thing attached to the bag and it doesn't say. It just says "Progesterone Suppositories 100 mg". So, I don't think it is crinone, maybe just generic progesterone? They are like waxy bullets. I would be so relieved if there was a correlation between them and the cramping.
I also do think a lot of this is gas, and that there may also be a correlation with having to pee. A lot of the pains are "stretching" too, I guess.. at least they are what I think people are referring to by talkign about stretching...
UGHHHH I just wish the Dr. had never said anything or I would not be so concerned!!!

Wow, that guy seems like a complete idiot. I've looked on Yelp! for docs on the West coast, and google names + reviews of docs to help me pick one. There are also lots of pregnancy boards (in fact, there are local ones on The Bump you could go try, I polled mine when choosing a provider!) that might be able to give you personal experience with OBs, too. I'd drive far, far away to get someone who respects me and is competent...sounds like this guy isn't up there. My midwives are 30-45 minutes away, but it's worth it because I trust them.
As for the pains, I've had a lot of cramping, too, but I think it's all bathroom related. Sometimes when I have to pee, sometimes when I'm constipated (though that really hasn't been bad at all, I think it's related), sometimes gas. I have no other signs so I'm assuming things are OK...I guess we'll see. Good luck to you!
