Pre-School and Daycare

Suggestions for 3-yo boy b-day gift???

DD is attending a 3-yo b-day party for a little boy this weekend. We just started pre-school and up until now, all we've bought for is little girls. Any suggestions on toys your little ones like. I'd be willing to spend up to $40. TIA

  • I don't think you can go wrong with cars, trucks, or anything else with wheels.  Especially if they light up and make sounds :)

  • That's a big budget for a classmate...keep in mind you may get asked to 20 other parties this year!

    That being said, ds loves:

    Any kind of matchbox cars

Any kind of lawn toys (ie. blower, weedeater, chainsaw)

The Bare Naked Ladies CD called Snack Time (can order on amazon - this was the best 3rd bday gift he got)

    Large Tonka metal dump truck

    Character pajamas

Character thermos drinking container (you can get at walmart)

Books (don't have the same WOW factor when kids open them but they love them later)

Gift passes to a nearby bounce house, zoo or aquarium

    Thomas trains

  • WOW! Thanks for all the awesome suggestions! I agree, the budget is a little high... I was hoping to spend closer to $25, but she only has 7 classmates, so we won't be too bombarded either. Looks like I'll be able to get a pretty awesome gift for a decent price too! REALLY appreciate the help!!!

  • Most of my friends and I always are stuck picking theme by what the child loves most.  If he is having a Cars party it is a safe bet to get a Cars toy for example.  I often do this when I don't know the child too well.
