Having trouble with disposables

Since S was born, we've used Pampers Swaddlers, and they've been great. We tried Huggies Little Snugglers, but this weird gel stuff ended up everywhere on her, so we kept with Pampers. She just "graduated" to size 3, which means we're onto Cruisers. In the week we've switched to Cruisers, she's gotten a horrible diaper rash. I notice the Cruisers are "built" a little differently inside than the swaddlers, but she's never had a problem with diaper rash before. I'm wondering if maybe giving Huggies another try might help? Or is there another brand I'm missing that would be good? Thanks!

  • Some children have a reaction to the "dry max" version of diapers.  I would try Costco or another brand if it continues.

  • ditto on the 'dry max' some babies are more sensitive to it than others. i think pampers has another version of their diapers that comes in a size 3. i know i went back and forth b/t cruisers and dry max when dd was in that size.

if you want to check out another brand, i've had good luck w/ target's Up and Up brand and safeway's generic brand.

  • We really like Costco's diapers.  They are pretty inexpensive too.

  • Another ditto for Costco. They have a good return policy if you don't like them. They don't have an irritating gel like the Dry Max.

  • I was never a fan of the Pampers Cruisers.  When we moved on from the Swaddlers, I used the Pampers Baby Dry.  Try those maybe.
  • We had a reaction to drymax after swaddlers sensitive and switched to pampers baby dry. We love them.

  • I'm not sure if Pampers Sensitive have the Dry Max, but once DS outgrew the Swaddlers I switched to Sensitive because they are essentially the same and he's never had a reaction.
  • We used Costco's Kirkland diapers from 3 months until DS potty trained.  They were cheap and super absorbant and I don't remember any gel residue (though I recall seeing it with Pamper's newborn diapers).
  • We've had really good luck with both the Kirkland brand (costco) and Luvs.

Luvs are my current fave, and they are SUPER cheap on Amazon!

  • I was always very happy with the Full Circle brand (house brand for Raley's, Nob Hill).  Huggies have latex in them, so I tend to avoid those.

We use Luvs exclusively and yes, they are SUPER cheap on amazon.

  • I loved 7th generation and Earth's Best - both fit my skinny-legged boy very well. And the california baby cream is the best we've found.

The best cure for diaper rash, though? Naked time Open air = awesomeness.

  • We used pampers until dry max came out (read some terrible stories of diaper rash due to dry max) then switched to Huggies Little Snugglers, then at size 3, switched to Huggies Little Movers.  We haven't had any issues with the gel except the one time we forgot to put a swim diaper on DD before we went in the lake  LOL  Her diaper exploded in gel pellets.

The time you had the gel, is it possible her diaper got wet somehow on the outside, or maybe she just peed more than normal?
