I LOVE the honesty of this board, so give it to me.  We just found out this morning we are having a boy.  Thoughts on Sebastian? Too long?  Too formal?  Any wierd nn's he would have to contend with?  We have also talked about Milo.  Good, bad, ugly?  DD is Annabel.

I have always loved that name!  Go for it.  I like Milo to but DH likes Otis more, it does remind me of the movie!!  But what can I say my child's name is Felix and it reminds everyone of the cat

While it isn't terrible, I just really never liked this name.

I prefer Milo over Sebastian. The only nn I can think of for Sebastian is Sea Bass. Where I udsed to live there was actually a radio DJ that was named Sebastian that went by Sea Bass on the radio so that's why I think of it.

I love Sebastian! If you love it, go for it. Milo is cute, but I personally prefer Miles as the given name with the nickname Milo.

As a sibset, I really like how Annabel and Sebastian sound together better than Annabel and Milo.

Whenever I hear the name Milo I think the kid is stinking adorable. And when I hear Sebastian all I can think of is the Little Mermaid. But both are cute and would be a great name to have.

I love how Sebastian sounds with Annabel.  Both are classy and flow nicely together.  Milo reminds me of a cat or dog.  I'd prefer Miles and Annabel over Milo and Annabel.

Sebastian is my back-up name for a boy.  We're going with Bast or Bastian for a nn.  I also love Milo, but I recently worked with a Myles and he pretty much turned me off of the name or anything similar  

That being said, I think both are strong, classic, but uncommon names.  You won't have anyone looking at your kid's class list and thinking, "Wow, is that even a real name?"

There is a (great) bank called Belle and Sebastian.  Annabel and Sebastian just sound way too close to the band for me.

I love Milo though.

After a book series I read, I love the name Sebastian. I'm not sure what the kids would give him for a nickname though. They might even go with his middle name for a nickname?

Milo I'm not a fan of. And I'm not particularly crazy about it with Annabel as a sibling either.

I don't mind the name sebastian.. But I agree with others that it's a little "fussy" and just for a sidenote, the only sebastian I knew was gay... So that's what I have in my head.

All that being said, it really it's bad, just NMS....

Sebastian is the male version of Sofia where I live. It's the favorite among the "need a name that sounds good in English and *insert language*" crowd. I know five Sebastians DD's age in my neighborhood/local circle, of Polish/Argentine/French/Puerto Rican and Spanish (Spain) extraction. It's a nice name, however.

Those are also my top two boy names, so I don't have a bad thing to say about either. However, I am sure that I would lovingly be calling my son "SeaBass" if we went with Sebastian! Ha!

Sea bass is a funny nickname, but it's cute. I also like Bash or Bastian as a nn and think Bash and Belle make a super cute sibset

I love both. They were both on our short list last time and might be this time around. The Neverending Story was only like the greatest movie ever. :P We're not really nicknamers though. I don't hate Bastian though. Seb, Sebby, etc. are horrible though.
