Re: TakeLuck
Well, thank you
Rowan was my baby name since I was 12 years old. DH still wasn't on board up until a minute after he was born and we'd found out he was a boy. I think after all I'd dealt with that day, he kind of HAD to give me my Rowan
I'm from Norwich. It's a gorgeous city.
The turtle pjs make me grin!
Norwich is about 2.5 hours away from London. It's definitely worth the trip! You'll just get on the train at Liverpool Street and it takes a little less than two hours. Hopefully you'll have plenty of opportunity to travel within the UK while you're there because it's a beautiful country from top to bottom. My favourite places are Cornwall (in the southwest) and Edinburgh.
I moved here to Detroit when I was 18 (fifteen years ago) so I've never lived as an adult in England. From what I gather, the cost of living is astronomical! DH and I have always said that we'd move there once his daughter (she's ten) was old enough to travel back and forth alone or make the decision to come with us or stay with her mother. Now that we have DS, we're talking more seriously about it and would like to move there before he starts school.
I think you'll like it very much there. It'll be a really cool experience. Do you know exactly where you'll be living?

Except for the HCOL, I'm super jealous.

Do you have netflix instant? If you haven't seen it already, check out the Office UK. It's brilliant
We're thinking North London somewhere. DH is starting there Nov 1 but DD and I will stay here until the beginning of December because I didn't want to have to bring her back and forth for Thanksgiving. I'm going to go over for a few days (the longest I'll have been apart from DD *sniff*) at the beginning of Nov to try to find a place to live. Luckily DH's employer takes care of a lot of the relocation for us, so they have us set up with a real estate broker and they'll have our stuff packed and sent, some by boat, some by air. I can't even really fathom the move just yet but I'm sure after I go in November, it'll start to seem more real.
Errr...what's HCOL stand for?
