Not hard at all if you have a sewing machine. You will need to prewash the fabric on hot and dry on high to ensure the fabric has shrunk and faded as need be before sewing. You can do them one of three ways:
- If your machine has a serger on it serge the edges to keep them from fraying. Just line up two pieces of cloth back to back and serge around the edges.
- You can do a zigzag stitch around the edges again just putting to pieces together.
- You can put them together right sides facing eachother and stitch a standard straight stitch all the way around once you get to the last side stitch either end but leave a pocket in the middle of that side. Flip wipes right side out and tuck last unsewn edges together inside and stitch closed (like you would a throw pillow).
They are really really easy! In fact you don't have to sew them if you don't want too! I use flannel from Jo Ann Fabrics. Every couple of months they put their flannel half off - about $3 a yard. Then I cut the fabric into 8 inch squares. You can either stop there or if you want a little fancier:
1. Put 2 squares together with the pattern facing each other
2. Sew the outer edge together leaving about 2 inches unsewn
3. Flip the wipe (using the hole you left) so the pattern is on the outside.
4. Sew around the outer edge of the wipe again making sure to tuck the edges from the unsewn part so that gets sewn together
And you are done! I hope that helps!

This is how I do it also. I prefer my wipes that are flannel on one side and terry cloth on the other. The terry cloth grabs messes and the flannel is a soft after wipe.
Re: Anyone make wipes?
Super easy if you can sew a straight line. Even crooked lines work. :oD
Or you can just buy a pack of cheap washcloths. They work the same, and no work involved.

I'll have to try this.
I bought wash clothes to use, but even after washing they just aren't as soft as I would like.
I sew like a blind drunk person and my wipes turned out great. I used flannel/terry cloth.
I T&T with a zig zag stitch on the top.
