Good morning, I figured it was time for me to cross over. I joined TTCAL last year in November after going through RPL testing. I was diagnosed with APS and the Perinatalogist gave me a rundown of the treatment plan for the next pregnancy which includes BA and Heparin injections twice a day.  

My TTC journey began in the Fall of 2008 when my DH and I decided we were ready to start a family. I chucked my BC and started taking PNVs and within a few short months I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I didn't even make it past 6 weeks. History repeated itself two more times in August of '09 and again in April of '10.

After enduring three losses back to back my ute seem to be in an uncooperative state and I think it's time to see an RE. I've contacted the OBGYN department to request an appointment and was informed that I have to take an "Infertility Class" before I can be referred to a specialist . Anyone experience anything like this?

Anywho...I'm looking forward to being a part of this board and getting to know all of you better.

*hug*Welcome. Do you need a referral for your insurance? I wouldn't want to take an IF class with an OB unless it was absolutely needed. What the heck do they do at it?

Thanks for the welcome! As for the IF class...your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that I don't want to take it! I have to call back the nurse asap to find out what the point of it is. I just know that I need it in order to get a referral to an RE. I have an HMO and I'm sure they like making people go through hoops.

Before I made an appointment to see the Urologist for DH I looked over my explanation of benefits from my insurance company.  I had it pretty well figured out, but I called them any way just to verify I had the info right.  Maybe you should call your insurance company to see if they require a referral, or a class () before you see a fertility specialist.

I've never heard of an infertility class but I hope it's not too painful.  Any idea what they're going to be teaching you?

Welcome.  I haven't had anything like that happen - I didn't even know they had such a thing as an infertility class.  What a pain.  I hope you're able to get your RE referral soon and that they'll be able to help you come up with a great plan!

Rawr, you're completely right. I need to be better informed so I'm calling my insurance company tomorrow morning. 

I'm waiting for the receptionist at the OBGYN dept to return my call about the IF class so she can explain what it entails. I think the idea is lame. This is already so hard, why are they making it more emotionally taxing by making me sit through a class? Ugh...

Welcome to the board, although I am so sorry you have to be here.  I do go to an RE, but I never had to take a class like that, so I don't know what that is about.  I hope that your appt. goes well.

IF class?  We don't have that here that I am aware of.  Please update when you get a response!
