Baby Names

Back with the Hayden

Ok, so DH loves the name Hayden. I am ok with it but need a strong middle name to go with it. DS was going to be Hayden Lane but we heard such negative feed back we decided on Zachary Lane. I am really hoping for a boy this time also. What to you think of Hayden Alexander? I am open to suggestions using Hayden as MN or FN.

Re: Back with the Hayden

  • I don't dislike the name, but it seems to be growing in popularity as a girl's name. I wouldn't want my son Hayden to be in school with 2 female Hayden's.

I would suggest using it as a MN if you like it that much.

How about Christopher Hayden or Alexander Hayden?

  • I like the name because it is a family surname.  We plan on using it as a middle name some day.

As for the masculine/feminine thing... I largely see it as a surname, so it feels neutral to me.

  • I LOVE the name Hayden as a boy's  FN. Lane and Alexander are both good middle names.

  • I think Hayden Alexander sounds better than Hayden Lane.
  • There are 5 (yes, 5) male Haydens and 2 girl Haydens at DD's daycare alone, and about 4 Aidens. Confusing...

  • We have a DD named Hayden. When I first threw the name out I was OK with it for either a boy or a girl, my husband though only liked it for a girl...he doesn't feel it is masculine at all. So I agree with you on picking a very strong mn if you are going to use it for a boy.
