Baby Names

Just wanted some opinion. :]

So my fiance & I had the hardest time with boy names. There were so many I loved but never could see as my sons name. His middle name is Lamar & so is his grandfathers & my step dad & his dad's middle name so that was a given. But we decided on Aiden Lamar....What do you guys think? Of course friends & family love it but i dont know if they are just saying that because they are friends and family & suppose to back us up. :/

  • I personally see Aiden as very trendy, which I am not a fan of.

  • There is a plentiful amount of baby and young Aidens in the world today. I like that you're using Lamar as a family tribute, however.

  • I've always liked the name Aiden. I think it's a great name.

I actually like it, or used to, but I'm so sick of it. Your son would be one of 25 (at least) Aiden/Kayden/Hayden/Brayden/Jayden/etc in his class. I think everyone needs to cool it on this name and its variations for a while.

    Totally agree.

  • I tend not to like names that are super popular so I don't really love Aiden right now.  As long as you love it and are okay with him possibly having several other Aidens (or some variant of that) in his classes then you should use it.  I think its great that you are using a family name as well.

  • I'm not a fan, but you might not be a fan of our choice either:  Noah James

It's all about what you feel goes with your family's personality :)

  • is too trendy but flows well

  • I like it.

Aiden is our top boy's name too right now.  Neither of us really care how popular it is in the rest of the country, it's falling in popularity here - not in the top 10.

  • I think its really nice.. I know its a very popular name but to be honest my DS is 5 and I have never met an Aiden from his classes.

My son has an Aidan, Braeden and Jaydon in his class.

  • I like it a lot, and who knows whether he'll end up with an Aiden, or similar in his class. If you like it, and it fits with your personality and name, then I say go for it! I know plenty of Jennifers that survived :)

  • Aidan is the most common name in the US when you consider it's million spelling variants. To me, Aiden is misspelled and like nails on a chalkboard to me.
