so....i cant believe this....

i talked to my brother and told him i wanted help(financially) for my nephews food and daycare costs and if he couldnt help at all my mom said she would help. ( i thought mom helping would make it easier)

i think it all became real to him and he realized he would MISS HIS KID and he backed out and said he didnt want me to take him....but then he did say he might want me to take him for a couple weeks 'here and there'

whats that supposed to mean?

    I don't know the whole story, so sorry if I'm way off. To me it sounds like an easy out for when he feels overwhelmed (or lazy).

    It means he doesn't want to give up his rights because that may make him appear to be a crappy Dad but he wants you to chip in when it gets too tough so he gets a break but you won't.

    I have an older brother like this. He didn't mind making his three kids but is ALL about dropping them off with someone else when the hard shiz comes. He prefers to be the part time parent so his 2 ex-wives divide up the time with the kids and him. Sad really. His new wife (#3) I love to pieces and she's trying to whip his butt back in line about stepping up to be a dad.

    I think this will be a futile effort on her part.
