I am so over it. Perhaps I just know too many? Also, the fact that it has been brought up in my personal life a few times this weekend also means, to me, that it's too popular (and for what reason, I don't know).
Some friends are due soon and were talking about how they don't have any girl names yet...and were thinking of using Abigail...but it's their DOG'S name as well. WHAT?!?
Another friend had a niece born this weekend...named...Abbigale. :S I don't like that spelling.

I think Abigail is pretty and Abby is cute, but its the kind of name I barely notice because it has been so common for a while. It is a solid, uneventful choice in my opinion.
I really like Abigail. Abigail Elizabeth was on my list if my son was a girl. However, if we had a second, it would be off our list because it was become VERY popular in my area and because we have several friends using Abigail.
One of my students in my very first class was an Abbie. She was the kindest, sweetest, strongest (fought brain cancer while I had her as a student) girl I have ever met, so I have a very positive association with that name.

WTH?
I'm bored with it. I know so many, and I think even the sound of it is just kind of dull.
I much prefer Caitlin, if that's still a contender for you.
I know, right? Blech! I was going to post it under weekend horrors and forgot to. I just REALLY don't like the look of it.
I really like the names you're already considering though!
