with my first C-sect. I was there the full 5 days. my son was in the NICU so i was fine w/ being there w/ him, they actually had to beg me to leave! LOL.
this time around, if there are no complications, i would love to leave earlier. my c-sect. is next Friday at 7am, so i'm not sure if that is counted as a full day. i'm thinking probably no earlier than monday morning, but i'm not sure. i know it all depends on my hospital policy and i will ask my OB on Thurs. at my appt., just curious what others have been allowed to do. thanks!
Re: what is the earliest i can get discharged?
You'll have to factor in both your needs, and the needs of the baby and what the pedi thinks.
My doctors would have let me go home a day and a half after the birth. She was born late evening on the 23rd, and they would have discharged me on the morning of the 25th, since it was Christmas Day. Honestly, we thought about it, but given that the by and large prefered we and baby wait 24 more hours, that's what we did. Had we left so soon baby would have needed to be check at the pedi the next day and I would have needed to go back for a visit, and it didn't seem worth it to have to make 2 doc trips the next day.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
We would have gone home 48 hours after, but LO had some complications and we had to stay longer. I think my hospital's policy is 48-72 hours after the c-section unless there are complications.

If there are no complications with you or the baby, my hospital's policy is three days.
My water broke Monday night, I had DD Tues aft noon, and I left Fri at noon.
