Cloth Diapering

Extra Small needed?

XS are sized 0-2 months and from 6-10lbs... so do you think we would need or use these very long?

Re: Extra Small needed?

  • You kinda answered your own question =) They are designated to fit babies, on average, for the first 2 months. So the average cloth diapered baby would fit into these for the first 2 months.

Some babies never fit in xsmall. Some babies are in xsmall for months.

I wouldn't personally do a huge stash of xsmall pockets, all-in-ones etc. Maybe a few, and then invest in prefolds and covers. They will be a lot more worth your money, especially if your baby starts fitting in bigger diapers quickly.

  • I like trim diapers, so I've been really tempted to get the little lions newborn (same pound range) even though we were very happy with the KL0 (and were in those for 6 mos - they go up to 15 lbs). Do you need them, no. Will you think they fit your newborn better, yes. If you're going to a OS system, you'll need something to fit before they really can get into the OS anyway.

  • We couldn't have done without them because DS was 5 1/2 lbs when he came home. That being said, if you don't want to invest, you can juist do pre-folds and get a few xs covers until your LO fits in OS (which is closer to 12 than 10 lbs). DS could fit in the Rumparooz OS shortly after birth so if that was a large portion of my stash, I could have skipped the xs dipes.
