Mixed Emotions about DS Namesake

I've always been Daddy's girl.  So when DH suggested we name a boy (we were team green) after my dad, I was thrilled.  Done deal.

Over the past year, I've seen some changes in dad as a result of some tough times.  He's become needy, helpless, weak, and even dishonest.  This is definitely not the dad who I've known and admired my whole life.  

He'll always be my dad who I love so much, but now I feel disappointed that DS will get to know a completely different person.

Dh is the third. I am sooo relieved we have not had a son and named a iv. He's turned into quite the jerk. I'm sorry about your dad.

 But also, I would try to get your dad to go to the doctor and get checked.  Sudden personality changes can be a symptom of a variety of different problems.

1, or even 5 years of a different man should not replace 20-30+ years of memories of him.
