Trouble TTC

Clomid and weird twingy pain

Hi ladies,

I started my first round of clomid this cycle, days 3-7, 50 mg.  I had a lap last cycle and endometriomas were removed from both ovaries.

At my baseline u/s, the doctor said I had a small cyst on my left ovary, but that it was probably a residual cyst from the endometrioma removed in the lap.  We were o.k.'d to start Clomid anyway.  I have a monitoring appt Monday.

So I'm having these twingy pains around my left ovary.  I had them right after my lap for about a week or so.  So they are back, and I'm wondering if that's just how it feels when Clomid starts making your ovaries go to work, or if that's pain from the cyst, or if it's my ovaries at work, but they are still healing some from the lap, so it's more painful.  I know I'll find all of this out at my appointment on Monday, just curious if anyone else has experienced something similar.  I'm only on CD 10, so it's too early for O pain.

TIA!  Have a great Saturday!

Re: Clomid and weird twingy pain

  • I've had twingy pains both cycles on Clomid, I think it's normal. I also have a cyst on the left, and I thought my cramps were maybe something going on with the cyst - but it's never changed size or anything.

Good to know...hopefully my cyst is staying small too.  Thank you!

  • I had pretty regular cramp-like pains on both of my clomid cycles;  if its not severe pain, you should be fine.

  • I had pretty significant cramping with my clomid cycles.  I was told by the RE that this was normal and  the clomid can make ovulation pains more noticeable because follicles are being stimulated.

  • I had twingy pains, as well as some specific ovary pain. ( not like o pain, just felt like pulling). I was on 50mg clomid too. My nurse explained that you ovaries are used to making one follicle, clomid multiples that, so your ovaries are going to feel it! I hope your cyst is ok. Good luck tomorrow! Keep us posted.

  • I just started Clomid this cycle, and had cramps much later than usual, and am still getting twinges here and there as well.  Glad to hear others are too, and that it's probably nothing to worry about.
