I bought K a bunch of onesies (& other clothes) today in 12 & 18 months as she's now completely out of 9 months stuff. While the cashier was ringing it up, she asked if K was crawling yet. I said no and she replied that she "figured not because once they start crawling, the onesies are out". I'm confused. Why wouldn't you continue to use onesies just because they are crawling? Do they ride up or something? Anyone?

I bought dresses and pants to go with them. I just don't understand why she'd think you would stop using them just because of crawling.

I have never just had ds in a onesie, even when it was warmer out! I could never just let him be without pants or shorts. I guess I have never liked the look of a baby just wearing a onesie crawling or not.
No idea why she would say that. I have a full on crawler, and onesies would be fine. We choose not to use them because he is wearing 18 month size, and it's too hard to find onesies that would fit him. On days that it is warm, a onesie and baby legs are the way to go around the house.
Mj has been crawling a couple weeks now and does better in onsies than anything else. I had him in little track pants one day and his legs were slipping out from under him on smoother floors.
No matter the topic, people always say crazy sh!t about babies (and pregnancy). I think this was just another instance of that.

my almost 2 year old still wears onesies. The plain white ones under his t-shirts. It's the only way I can get him to stay in his diaper.
This would be my guess.
