Baby Names

Justin?

Is this name dated? I like the name, but just wanted to get some opinions on it. I kept it off my list since I knew someone with the name I was not fond of, but also think it might be dated? Thoughts?

Re: Justin?

  • I love Justin. It's not as popular now as it once was, IMO but you won't have like 8 Justins in the class!

  • I don't think I would use it.  It is kind of dated, but more than that I just kind of find it lackluster, like there are so many better names out there.
  • I've had a Justin in my class maybe 3 out of the last 5 years or so. One was in middle school and the others in primary grades so still being used.

Two of them have given me enough gray hair that I wouldn't use it though.

  • Personally, I don't think it's dated at all. I put it in the same category as Michael, Matthew, etc.

IMO, it's a solid, traditional name that won't be seen as too trendy or too over the top.

  • I like it and don't think it's dated. I would consider for a future child if it were not for a past association.

I agree - though I am probably biased because DH is a Justin and I like his name.  It's declined in popularity since the '70s and '80s, but it's not like it was really trendy for a few years and then flamed out.

  • i think it's dated but at least there won't be 86 in the same class. it's not annoying like aiden and made up and ugly like zayden and zane. ok fine they aren't made up but they're annoying!
