I have been on this board for quite awhile trying to figure out a name for our DS. We ended up agreeing we'll name him after he's born, so the night before we reviewed our list. We decided we were more than likely going to use Garrett as his middle name in honor of DH grandpa who LO would share a bday with. So we went to the hospital with our list, Kai (our #1 pick, thought for sure this would be it), Easton, Peyton, Ackley and some MN options just in case: Brody & Chael. DS was born via C/S and we got to bond right away in recovery. DH and I both looked at LO, asked Kai? Nope. He was not a Kai. We went through all our other names, and nothing fit. We even "tried on" some names we wrote off, and our 2nd MN options. After awhile we decided Chael Garrett it was going to be. While we love the name Chael, we quickly second guessed our decision. Then we decided to switch it around. We originally had crossed Garrett off the FN list as Gary was DH grandfathers name, and there were already a TON of family named Gary (it's a handed down name), and we didn't want something so close. But Garrett fit him, it just felt right.
Just wanted to reassure those who feel like your LO will never have a name. Something will come. Eventually. And it may not be what you ever thought, but sometimes a name will just come to you and be perfect! And while yes, most babies just look like NB, sometimes their look does have an impact on their name.

Re: Lo is here-our unexpected name choice
Congratulations!
I quite enjoy that you didn't stick with a name just because you liked the name. I like that you looked at your LO and considered what suited him. I don't necessarily believe that a baby grows into its name. More often than not I think a baby suits a specific name. Good for you!
