Babies: 6 - 9 Months

I may think twice before helping my family out again...

My kid brother texts me this week asking if I'd watch his two boys, Monkey #1 (age 4) and Monkey #2 (14 mos) so he and my mom can go to the Heart/Def Leppard concert tonight. SIL is working the NICU till about 7:30. I figured, why not...they can play with Connor and Emma while William is doing homework and I rock Isla. No biggie right?

FML! 6 kids and just me. Dad was here but he doesn't "help" he just sits there.

Will didn't get home on time so Connor was pacing in the yard for 30 mins. Poor kid. I get the girls home and start cleaning up because none of that was done before DH went to work. My Dad drops off the boys and my son acts an ass, whining to go to my Dad's this weekend after I just told him it's my weekend, not Dad's. So now my son wants to shame me with guilt in front of my Dad.

I send him and Monkey 1 to Connor's room to go play. Connor stomps away with attitude upstairs and slams his door leaving my nephew in the hallway. I excuse myself and Connor gets 2 swats on his butt for acting up in front of Dad and being rude to his cousin.

Come back downstairs and my youngest nephew is screaming. Not a little fussy but full on streaming tears and an ear piercing shrill that I cannot stand. I had fed he and Emma grapes, cheerios, vanilla wafers, organic bunny cookies, milk and he polished off Emma's fruit snacks. He was still hungry. Geez kid.

DH comes home so there is some help. Will acts like he can't hear any of this going on and only comes to the kitchen to get iced tea and goes back to his room. I get both my girls changed and settled to hear my nephew again screaming. FML! Even Emma went up to him and said "Nuh uh! Shhhh!"

I don't know how Michelle Duggar does it. That chick has my respect. 19 kids and she makes it look easy. 6 for a few hours and I'm digging in the fridge for wine.

I haven't seen my SIL in weeks and I went to the store to get groceries for the morning and I thought she'd hang around to at least talk for a few mins. Nope. She got the boys and left. Niice.

  • Wow! What a rough day. I hope your night gets better. The wine should help with that.

Oh if I only had some. I guess a hot bath will have to do.
