Anyone know how long it takes to get AFP results?

I just had the blood draw for the maternal AFP(?) this morning and forgot to ask how long it would take to get the results.  My office closes at 1:00 on Friday so I thought I would ask here and see if anyone knew.  I believe this is the blood test that looks for neural tube defects and is given between 15-18 weeks.  I think this is sometimes also called the multiple marker screen or the quad screen.  Thanks in advance and I will be back in a bit.

So THAT's what its called! I forgot to ask! I had mine this morning around 1130am and my doc told me I'd get my results on Monday. Much sooner than I would have expected!

Wow!  That's fast!  I doubt mine will be that fast as I think my office is kind of slow but at least it sounds like I won't have a 10 day wait this time.

I had mind drawn last Thurs. and found out the results on Tues. but my dr. seems to be quick for things.  They tell me usually 48 to 72 hours to get blood results back.  I found out that I am a carrier for CF as well during that blood draw so DH is now being tested and should find out results on Monday for him. Fingers Crossed.

I had mine drawn on Monday and got the results today so about a week.
